Kronberg Mini Project [Analog]: Kronberg Old Town, Shot with Canonet G-III QL17 on Kodak Gold / by J.Z.

Around the old town (Altstadt) of Kronberg with the Canonet G-III QL17 and a roll of Kodak Gold 200 in March.

I really like this tiny handy old thing, "the poor man's Leica" (another gallery is here).

The 1st version of the Canonet came out in 1961, the 3rd generation (like mine) hit the market in 1972.

The lens is fast and very sharp (although you can see in the 6th image below that it can distort quite a bit). It's a rangefinder with a super short focus throw, so very quick.

The only things I don't like about it are that the shutter maxes out at 1/500 (so that one cannot take full advantage of the wide aperture when the sun is out) and the weird filter thread of 48mm (so one needs to use an adapter).
